If you enjoy history, there’s so much to discover in Lossie! Fishing, railways, lighthouse, politics, even dinosaurs!
This day long itinerary covers three main aspects of Lossiemouth heritage; town history, military heritage, and geology.

A spotter’s day out
Lossiemouth is home to one of the largest and busiest RAF bases in the UK and the only remaining fast jet base in Scotland.
Most weekdays you’ll be able to hear and see planes over the town, particularly if you’re walking on West Beach.
Access to the base is restricted to personnel, however, if you’re keen on aircraft, here are some tips to help you make the most of your visit.

Getting Here
Lossiemouth is on the Moray coast, approximately 40 miles east of Inverness and 70 miles northwest of Aberdeen. The A96 is the main road between these two cities.
Travelling by bus or train, head to Elgin for a connecting bus service to Lossiemouth.
